Julian Sierra
Julián Sierra is a well-rounded artist born on June 6, 1978 in Villavicencio (Meta), Colombia. He excels in various artistic disciplines, including dramatic art, photography and especially drawing and plastic arts. He grew up in the Casanare region, between Trinidad Casanare and Yopal Casanare, where he lived until he was fifteen and was inspired by the colors and textures that nature offered in that beautiful Colombian region.
From an early age, Julián showed an interest in the visual and devoted himself to drawing with pencils, pens and colored pencils. At school, he was known as “the one who drew beautifully” and always enjoyed painting, leaving his mark on notebooks and papers. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling around Colombia, exploring some of its beautiful places full of color and wonderful harmony, finding in them a great source of inspiration: skies, mountains, textures and colors.
In the 1990s, Julian moved to the city of Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. Over time, his interest in the visual developed even further. He continued drawing with colored pencils and then took classes with a private teacher, which allowed him to learn different techniques and delve into artistic painting. During these classes, he explored oil, acrylics, watercolor, proportions, perspective, and color management.
Throughout his career, Julián has participated in various exhibitions and artistic events. His participation in Zona Cultura Bogotá in 2006 stands out, as well as a photography exhibition in Yopal Casanare in 2013. For several years, he was especially focused on photography and photographic post-production, exploring portraits, fashion photography for magazines and nature art photography for interior decoration. This period immersed in the world of photography allowed him to discover himself even more as a visual artist, learning about aesthetics, brightness, depth and detail, elements that nature possesses and that he now applies in his artistic painting.
